Working Families Party formally backs Jesus Gonzalez

The expected announcement gives Jesus Gonzalez a guaranteed place on the ballot in the September 13th special election to replace Assemblyman Darryl Towns.
Also from Freedlander, the WFP’s Deputy Director Bill Lipton is optimistic about their chances:
“The WFP will work enthusiastically from now through election day to get the Gonzalez message out to voters in the 54th District. We have a proven track record of turning out voters in special elections, and we’re confident this race will be won where Jesus is most comfortable – at the doors.”
One of his opponents — Rafael Espinal — is likely to get the very influential Democratic nod soon and the third candidate in the race, Deidra Towns, is petitioning to be on the “Community First” Party line.
A Craigslist ad hiring signature gatherers matching Towns’s profile was indeed recently spotted by a reader.
